List of Transcripts
Both the RiverScript web application and the Desktop client provide access to a list of transcripts. It is located on the main screen below the player (except in the mobile version, where its placement may differ).
The list stores all of the user’s recordings — both those with successfully completed transcripts and those where transcription was not performed (in such cases, the recording is marked with the corresponding label and color). RiverScript stores the audio files, transcript texts (as structured text or with timecodes and speaker labels, depending on the user’s preference), all translations of each transcript into different languages, and all AI generations (summaries and chats).
In the Desktop client, original audio files are stored both in a system folder on the user’s device (until manually deleted by the user) and on the RiverScript server. In the web application, audio files are stored only on the server. All audio files on the RiverScript server are automatically deleted 7 days after upload. Transcripts, translations, and AI generations (summaries and chats) are stored until the user deletes them.
When an internet connection is available, the list of transcripts is synchronized between the Desktop client and the web application. Manual synchronization can also be performed by clicking the refresh icon in the upper panel of the list.
The following functions are available in the list of transcripts:
- Rename recordings (
pencilicon) - Download audio file (
downloadicon in the recording panel) - Delete a single recording (
trashicon on the individual recording panel) - Delete all recordings (
trashicon on the top panel of the list) - Manual synchronization (allows updating the list when a stable internet connection is available)
- Open the system folder or location of the audio file (
folder icon; available only in the Desktop client)
The list can be scrolled using the mouse wheel or the arrow keys on the keyboard.
Possible Recording Statuses:
- Transcribed — A recording with a completed transcript. The recording is considered transcribed if the AI model has returned text.
- Upload Failed — Displayed with a red status. An unprocessed recording that encountered an error. This type of entry may or may not have a retry icon. The retry icon is usually present if the audio file is saved and accessible. If the audio file is unavailable or other issues prevent transcription, the retry option is disabled.
- Transcription Failed — Displayed with an orange status. An unprocessed recording whose audio could not be recognized by the AI model. The retry button is not available for this status, as the model is likely to return the same result upon retry. Nevertheless, since the AI model processed a file of corresponding length, the appropriate usage time is deducted from the user’s balance.
- Saved Locally — A status available only in the Desktop client. This refers to Live Recording captures that the user chose not to send for transcription. This feature and status were designed to allow users the opportunity to edit the audio file locally first — for example, if they accidentally left recording running and captured unwanted content they do not wish to transcribe or spend balance hours on. Audio with this status can be found in the system folder along with other audio files.
