Meet RiverScript Desktop Client 1.1

The latest RiverScript Desktop Client update brings several new features along with fixes for a number of reported issues.

New features

• Live Recording now supports microphone recording. You can now record not only your computer's system audio, but also your microphone at the same time, with both sources mixed into a single audio track.

  Before recording, simply select the microphone you want to use from the device list. Then enable the Mic checkbox either before you start recording or at any point while the recording is already in progress.

  You can turn microphone recording on and off as many times as you like during a Live Recording session. Need to say something? Turn it on. Done talking? Turn it off. It's entirely up to you.

  Both audio sources are mixed into a single track, and the combined audio is transcribed together. If you only want to record what you hear on your computer, simply leave the Mic checkbox disabled and only system audio will be recorded.

• Added support for OGA audio files.

Bug fixes

• Fixed a login issue affecting some corporate email providers. We discovered that certain email clients automatically open the magic login link before the user even sees the email, effectively invalidating the link. We've added an extra step to the login process that most email clients cannot complete automatically, preventing the login link from being used before you have a chance to sign in.

• Fixed Google Chrome authentication on macOS. Users running macOS with Google Chrome can now successfully sign in to the Desktop Client.

  Unfortunately, in previous versions the automatic update prompt only appeared after signing in. Since users affected by this bug couldn't sign in, they couldn't receive the update automatically either.

  Starting with version 1.1, the update check now runs immediately when the application launches. Existing users will need to reinstall the Desktop Client one last time by downloading the latest version from download page. After that, future updates will install automatically from inside the app.

From now on, RiverScript Desktop Client will check for updates every time it starts and display an update prompt in the bottom-right corner whenever a new version is available. Once you're on version 1.1, there's no need to visit the website to download future releases – just accept the update inside the app, and RiverScript will update itself automatically.
